Reference-program Grasshopper continuation

Status: Scoped adapter implementation and aggregate verification complete; normal native registration/archive restoration remain open. Geometry work is a design/data checkpoint, not a new composition implementation. Authorized overnight continuation from preserved stage-one commit 9453178bf6a68522204eb32a60d1077a5043eae0. No annual simulations, publication, main merge, installation/search-path/security changes or original-file overwrites.

Bounded implementation

1. Diagnose the native duplicate-file conflict using actual installed/build identities, logs and an isolated task-owned probe. Preserve original Rhino PID24864 and its documents; do not guess dialog paths. Test one session-only change at a time; bound unsuccessful attempts and record blockers. A renamed model document is not a plug-in isolation mechanism.
2. Add a thin DOE Reference Program component using the existing ProgramPreset Goo. New component identity/icon is stable; existing GUIDs/defaults remain unchanged. Blank source-zone input performs catalog discovery only. An exact zone, explicit WWR and separate geometry/DST acknowledgements are required for a preset. Show source provenance, original zone identities/multipliers, representability, local-clock/calendar/source-subset notices. Unknown input has no fallback.
3. Reuse catalog/CreatePreset through a small native-free selection/presentation seam; behavior is tested first before adapter implementation. No new simulation/result-reader workflow: comparison reports remain callable backend APIs because Grasshopper has no parsed-result parameter or runner path.
4. Append the research-eligibility bool to existing Convert2IDF, default false, using the existing appended-parameter deserialization pattern. Pass it to the existing writer flag; never bypass its backend gate. Preserve existing saved definitions and default outputs.
5. Root owns integration/docs/native diagnosis. A bounded Sol worker owns only the selector/service/tests, source component, Convert2IDF appended input, icon registration/source and a focused smoke spec. Separate worker checkout. Independent review after integration, focused/aggregate verification, honest native/manual status and new external evidence record.

Office/courtyard design checkpoint

Keep parametric two-zone OfficePlate separate from a source-compatible five-thermal-zone core/perimeter path. Detailed DOE/OSM room hybrids require explicit source-zone crosswalks; no name inference or wholesale branch merge. Two–three-floor, deep six–nine-floor and high-rise forms are named controlled variants; original geometry/source multipliers and departure targets stay separate. Exact shared-bar courtyard composition precedes and is distinct from simplification. Before architecture changes, specify executable topology, reciprocal contact, internal-window exclusion/exposure, orientation, conditioned-area and spatial-control invariants from the saved source/audit/coverage records. Adjacent coverage's weather flags are not authority for explicit IDF holidays/DST.

Evidence and delivery

The bounded planning review adds decisive gates before geometry architecture work: distinguish occupied DOE cores from illustrative service cores; keep occupied/plenum/basement air-volume ledgers; compare hourly heat partitions and per-source spatial gains; declare vertical inter-storey coupling changes; preserve realized window placement under exact composition. A local executable counterexample through the unchanged aggregator conserves total component power while differing by 25 W in hourly latent allocation for complementary source schedules. This is software/algebraic evidence, not an EnergyPlus result or authority to silently change scientific behavior.

RED/GREEN tests, diagnostics, actual loaded paths, assembly identities, native scenarios/checks/exceptions and any blocked status are saved outside the repository. Preserve stage-one branch/evidence, original main, 5R1C and planning-file backups. One integrator branch receives reviewed scoped commits; no recursive delegation, push, release or morning-summary authorship.
